North West Highlands

The North West Highlands is described as the area north of the Great Glen. In essence all of Scotland north of the Great Glen, which stretches from Fort William to Inverness. It contains the most varied and, many would argue, the most dramatic mountain landscapes in Britain. It is an area low in population with many of the mountains located far from the few main roads which serve the region’s small towns and scattered communities. To simplify viewing images the North West Highlands are split into the sections shown on the right.

Glen Shiel to Glen Carron-Strath Bran -

Torridon & Loch Carron to Loch Broom

Loch Broom to Assynt and the North Coast (Future)
