For Convenience in navigating this website, Scotland’s Highland Mountains have been divided into five geographical zones as described on the map below:-

 

 

These areas have been selected for convenience and broadly conform to the following areas as detailed in the Scottish Mountaineering Club’s Guide; ‘The Munros’.

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

Loch Lomond to Loch Tay

CENTRAL HIGHLANDS

Tay to Rannoch Moor; Strath Orchy to Loch Leven; Ardgour & Moidart; Loch Linnhe to Loch Ericht; Drumochter Hills west of Loch Ericht.

EAST HIGHLANDS

Blair Atholl to Braemar; Glen Shee to Mount Keen; The Cairngorms; Glen Roy to the Monadhliath.

NORTH WEST HIGHLANDS

Loch Eil to Glen Shiel; Glen Affric and Kintail; Glen Cannich to Glen Carron; Coulin and Torridon; Loch Maree to Loch Broom; Loch Broom to Easter Ross; Coigach to Cape Wrath.

THE ISLANDS
